The Rambler Kitchen + Faucet

A tribute to the classic 1964 Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer TV show and Misfit Toy Island, The Rambler Kitchen + Tap in the North Center will host a “Misfit Christmas” pop-up starting the day after Thanksgiving, Friday November 26 to Sunday January 2.

Owner Kyle Bagley said: “The idea for our Misfit Christmas pop-up was born because we thought it would be fun to get together with our group of misfits to celebrate the holidays by bringing back old memories and honoring a classic. of our childhood. “

Along The Rambler on Lincoln Ave., there will be an outdoor stage featuring custom painted 10ft wooden figures from the film directed by local Chicago artist Reaghan Murphy. Inside, each room will be inspired by a different scene with Christmas lights, Misfit Toy figures, and staff dressed as characters.

When the guests enter they will find the snowy forest where Rudolph and Hermey first meet and sing “We’re a Couple of Misfits”. Guests will then experience arctic mountain scenery as they make their way to the cave of the infamous snowman, Bumble. Finally, the Rambler’s 600-square-foot heated and covered beer garden will transform into Santa’s workshop.

To complete the decor, festive cocktails from $ 10 to $ 14 will include Yukon’s Old Fashioned with Old Forester Bourbon, Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey, crème de cacao and bitter chocolate topped with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Silver and Gold with NOLET’S Silver Gin , Mionetto Prosecco and White Cranberry Juice with Cranberry and Rosemary Garnish, Yule Mule with Jack Daniels Tennessee Apple, Jack Daniels Tennessee Fire, Ginger Beer, Cranberry Juice, Lime and Cranberry Juice, a Bumble-tini with Black Irish White Chocolate Irish Cream, Bushmills Irish Whiskey, white cocoa cream and blue sugar rim. Hot drinks will also be available like Hermey’s Hot Chocolate and an Old Country Toddy.

A themed menu will feature treats like hot baked Snickerdoodle pretzels topped with cinnamon sugar and served with frosting, reindeer food with rice cereal, chocolate, peanut butter, powdered sugar and red and green M & Ms’s; and powdered sugar donuts shaped like Snowman Sam and Suite. Savory dishes will include a Toy Taker turkey sandwich with roasted turkey breast, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and a side of cranberry sauce, and an open-faced chicken pie on two buttermilk cookies.

Boxcar Betty’s, the southern fried chicken sandwich shop, has announced a new menu item for the holidays. New on the menu, ‘Pecan Pie in a Cup’ is a simple Southern-style dessert to enjoy after eating one of the restaurant’s signature fried chicken sandwiches. The new dessert was launched just in time for the best time of the year.

As Chicago braces for colder weather, Hannah’s Bretzel launched its new winter menu offerings on November 29: Christkindl Sandwich, Alpine Soup, and Spicy Chicken Fudge.

True to the German heritage of founder Florian Pfahler, the Christkindl Sandwich evokes a European-influenced holiday spirit with its layers of German speck, organic apple slices, feta cheese, organic arugula and fig chutney with a organic apple balsamela fillet – all on their homemade organic pretzel baguette.

On particularly cold days, try one of their new warm and winter offers:

  • Spicy chicken fondant: free-range chicken, pickles, red cabbage, pickled onions, house Buffalo style hot sauce, Merkt’s + farmhouse cheddar.

  • Alpine soup: organic barley, French ham, smoked double bacon, organic carrots, celery, Yukon potatoes, organic yellow onions, garlic, dill, parsley and cream.
