Chicago Restaurants and Bars Celebrating Pride Month in June

I|O Godfrey – the year-round rooftop escape located at the Godfrey Hotel Chicago (127 W. Huron) – hosts the 20th annual Outside the office, the annual LGBTQ+ networking event, on Wednesday, June 1 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to kick off Pride Month. The event raises funds for Legacy Project Chicago’s LGBTQ Studies Program for Illinois Public Schools.

This year’s event is held in honor of Chicago broadcast legend Merri Dee, who was instrumental in founding the event 20 years ago, attending almost every year event.

All tickets are available for purchase through Eventbrite. Early bird tickets are now on sale until Sunday, May 15.

Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from I|O’s Rainbow Sangria sold throughout June will go to Legacy Project Chicago.


This Pride Month, sip on something special while giving back to the Chicago community. “Sassy Pants,” Funkenhausen’s pride-themed cocktail, is available all month of June with 50% of net proceeds supporting Chicago Southside’s Brave Space Alliance. Sassy Pants is a fruity version of the cranberry margarita made with tequila, grapefruit liqueur, orange liqueur, lime juice, cranberry juice, and spiced bitters with a rainbow salt -sky on the edge. Stop by the West Town hangout all month long with donations to the first black-run, trans-run LGBTQ+ center in the Southside neighborhood.


Refresh your taste buds throughout June with a rainbow cocktail to celebrate Chicago’s Pride. PB&J’s is back with its special Taste the Rainbow cocktail for the month of June. Made with rainbow layers in each glass, Taste the Rainbow is made with grenadine (red), pineapple (orange/yellow) and finished with a tequila and blue curacao top for a refreshing cocktail after a long month of parades and celebrations.

Sisters Amy Lawless and Clodagh Lawless combine their 40 years of hospitality experience here in Chicago and in their native Ireland, Dearborn to create a restaurant that unites their passion for heartfelt service, a welcoming ambience and cuisine with classic roots that’s not afraid to take culinary risks. The six-time Michelin Bib Gourmand pays homage to owner Franco Gianni’s father, who was a carpenter for more than 50 years. The kitchen features an array of plates to share on a frequently rotating menu for dinner and Sunday brunch, focusing on locally grown produce in peak season, meats slaughtered by responsible Illinois suppliers, charcuterie house and bread from the wood oven. Also known for its whimsical yet nuanced cocktails, Wood also offers a list of affordable wines by the glass and craft and imported beers.

Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, Chicago

The hotel can be a base to celebrate during Pride Month. Not only has The Radisson Hotel Group recently been named the Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality by the Human Rights Campaign, its Chicago location is also steps away from Pride in the Park, an annual Pride festival held at Millennium Park in Chicago, along the lake. . The hotel is both easily accessible to the park and is also centrally located in Chicago’s Loop, just along the newly renovated riverfront along the Chicago River. While in town, visitors can enjoy the city’s shopping, nightlife, dining, and entertainment. Plus, the hotel hosts lively Drag Brunches at the hotel’s restaurant FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar which features some of the city’s iconic queens and bottomless mimosas.
