Chicago restaurants are giving back this holiday season


This National Giving Month, many Chicago restaurants are doing their part to support organizations working to ensure local communities can enjoy a safe, heartwarming and festive holiday season.

The Empty Bottle x Pizza Friendly Pizza Toy Drive

  • Date: December 4, 12 p.m.-4 p.m., free entry, 21+ (or accompanied by a legal guardian)
  • Details: Come on, all come to the Empty Bottle Holiday Toy Lunch Drive. They’ll collect new, unwrapped toys to be given to Chicago kids, while the DJs at Brunch AM and half of Dad’s Basement (the beautiful half) spin tunes from noon to 4 p.m. Drinks will be flowing and food from Pizza Friendly Pizza will be available throughout the afternoon. Pizza Friendly Pizza will serve a limited menu, a full bar at the empty bottle will be available.

Soul & Smoke – Coat Drive

  • Date: Now – December, Sun-Thu: 11 am-8:30pm, Fri-Sat: 11 am-9:30pm

  • Details: Soul & Smoke’s annual coat collection is back. Join them in helping to keep our community warm this year. In partnership with Connections For The Homeless, they collect new and lightly used coats for our neighbors in need. Coats can be dropped off at their Evanston location, located at 1601 N Payne St.
