Using the Uber Drivers app is making New York roads unsafe, Suit says

By Jonathan Capriel (April 7, 2022, 7:22 p.m. EDT) – Uber Technologies Inc. has made the streets of New York “unsafe and dangerous” by requiring its drivers to constantly check the ride-sharing app on their phones when they are on the road, according to a lawsuit filed in New York state court by a man struck by an Uber driver on Long Island.

The collision left Marden Hernandez Guevara with permanent and disabling injuries, according to his lawsuit filed Tuesday. While rideshare driver Peter S. Kanuika is partly to blame, much of the blame lies with Uber for creating and causing the ongoing hijacking, Hernandez claimed.
