Free drive-in movie screenings will begin at several city parks from August 11.
The Chicago Park District has announced that it is expanding its Movies in the Park series to include multiple drive-ins. Free drive-in movie series is among 20and season of Movies in the parkswhich offers outdoor film screenings every day of the week until September 11, according to a press release.
The new drive-in screenings will take place every Tuesday and Thursday through August 27 and will be located in multiple parking lots throughout the park. Each park will close at 4 p.m. to allow the screenings to be set up before moviegoers can enter at 7 p.m.
In line pre-registration will be required for each event and is available one week before the screening. 40 to 60 cars will be allowed in each screening depending on the size of the parking lot as well as its accessibility and layout, depending on the area of the park.
The Chicago Park District said guests are encouraged to stay inside their vehicles after parking and for the duration of the event. Customers who must leave their vehicle must wear a face covering at all times.
